Coverage on board vessels
In each vessel mobile coverage extends to all public areas and all passenger cabins, literally all areas inside the vessel. There is no coverage outside the vessel, in order to prevent signal leakage.
Automatic turning on/off of Network signal
The maritime service is only operated in open waters. No service is provided within 12 nm of the shore, or if there is a signal detected from land-based networks. This is automatically controlled by GPS positioning and monitoring of land-based networks.
Optional tailor-made messaging e.g. welcome SMS
On-Waves can send Welcome SMS messages to the end users’ handsets, tailor-made for each operator.
CAMEL inbound roaming
On-Waves provides CAMEL inbound roaming and supports Phase 1, 2 and 3.
