Sea Trucks Group to install GSM onboard

Maritime GSM provider On Waves has been awarded a contract to install cellular phone services aboard Sea Trucks Group’s floating DP-3 accommodation barge, Jascon 28.

The services to be installed will enable voice, SMS and data connectivity at sea, allowing the 450 guests and crew to use their mobile phones onboard.

The service will be available through both traditional international roaming and with dedicated pre-paid crew calling plans, which offer lower costs than normal roaming onto the network.
