How it works ?
On-Waves service will be automatically switched-on as soon as the vessel enters international waters which, in general, is about 12 nautical miles or in some cases beyond 2 nm from shore, following ITU and GSMA rules and recommendations. Upon activation passengers will receive a Welcome SMS announcing service availability.
Calls are routed from the vessel to the terrestrial gateway of your existing VSAT provider and from this point directly to our own GSM core network for call processing.

On-Waves terrestrial links are connected to all major Gateways, both for Satellite connectivity purposes, as well as for International GSM, GPRS/EDGE and CDMA call terminations. All links are redundant.
